Default Amazon Kindle question....

Hi, Im thinking of purchasing an Amazon Kindle Touch for my holidays and was just wondering how easy it is to transfer ebooks on to it (especially illegally downloaded ones)... Can i simply connect it to my pc and transfer the ebooks of various formats along with pdf's and my kindle will read them? Or is it a little more complicated than that?

Cheers..

Yea that's all, you will need to purchase the usb cable separately - the Kindle Fire doesn't come with one

It's not exactly that simple. Plug in your kindle and open up Calibre . Drag in the files you want to add to the kindle, select them and click the "Convert Books" button and convert them into MOBI files then click the "Transfer" button and you're done

Thank you, sir. Thats just what i wanted to hear. Btw, would you recommend the regular Kindle or Kindle touch? I've no intention of using mp3s or audiobooks just ebooks and pdfs.

thanks again

I got a kindle touch recently and it's great. You can also email books to your kindle and if you put convert in the subject, it will convert some file types to kindle format.
What does a touch have that a regular kindle doesn't have?
