Default THE FALL Live at The Pavilion. Saturday, 21st July.

The Pavilion are delighted to announce that Mark E. Smith's iconic post-punk act, The Fall will perform a special show in our upstairs venue on Saturday, 21st July. Spawning from the Thatcherite landscape that was Greater Manchester in the late 1970s, The Fall have become known for their acerbic lyrics, caustic guitar sound and anti-establishment ethos. Since their inception, The Fall have released a mind-boggling 29 studio albums and have been joined by a smorgasbord of members since their inception, with Smith acting as the focal point and sole constant member since the group were founded.

Championed by legendary DJ John Peel, who famously said of The Fall that, "They are always different, they are always the same." The Fall have influenced a host of artists and acts over the past twenty years; ranging from grunge bands such as Sonic Youth to Glaswegian art-rockers Franz Ferdinand, who performed here at The Pavilion recently.

Support on the night comes from local boys come good Trumpets of Jericho and slam poet Wasps vs Humans.

Tickets are €25 for members, €28 for non-members. Register http://www.pavilioncork.com/members-only/register/

Yep,he sang most of at least two from there, fuck knows what he was doing, doesnt sound very impressive on paper, pissed singer, kept disappearing, vocals mainly indecipherable, kept interfering with the bands instruments......and it was fucking great! the band are fantastic in fairness

Im only a casual fan and it was my first time seeing them but i was blown away, absolutely loved it,dying to go again! some grade a rock n roll

Its definitely in the not for everyone category though, can imagine a lot of people scratching their heads after it

Pure rock n'roll

Band sounded great in fairness was worried that Smith wouldn't last but he held it together for long enough I guess

Less drama than the Henry's gig too must check the new album

Ps. Trumpets of Jericho are one of the best bands I've heard from cork check out their album if you can
