i'd have accom, cabs and spending money issues anywhere outside cork too so flight is usually the only x-factor, which are cheap enough if booked in tons of time i.e. i've my flight for primavera 2027 booked already, so early in fact that the airline are paying ME!

It works out roughly the same Aphex if you plan it properly. Leave it until the last minute and you get fleeced. Nut let's not get off track. Yet.

Here we go: Electric Picnic 2012 official line-up
March 1, 2012 @ 12:11 pm | by Jim Carroll

Here’s the first set of runners and riders for this year’s Electric Picnic, which takes place at its usual digs in the middle of Stradbally, Co Laois from Friday August 31 to Sunday September 2:

The Cure (as predicted by OTR)
Sigur Ros
Elbow
Ed Sheeran (told youse)
Grizzly Bear
Orbital
Christy Moore (he’s back)
The Roots (awesome – saves us a trip to Sonar to see them)
Glen Hansard
The xx (predicted that one too)
Metronomy (yes!)
The Horrors (oh yes!)
Azealia Banks (she’ll hopefully play for more than 20 minutes this time)
Roots Manuva
Bell X1
John Digweed
Staff Benda Bilili (wow!)
Milagers
Alabama Shakes (damn right)
Cranes
Little Roy
Hot Chip
Land Lovers (go Land Lovers!)
Baxter Dury
Jonathan Wilson (oh yes! Hopefully this will mean even more people will check out his amazing “Gentle Spirit” album)
Solar Bears
Fatoumata Diawara
Willis Earl Bea

A couple of acts to get excited about. Much more to be announced i presume.

Also for Cure heads maybe think about when they played Oxegen all those years ago. I was but a young sprout at the time but was pretty indulgent and not great at all. That said I wouldn't be hugely familiar with the Cure outside of their main tunes so might've been different for true fans. Of the opinion though that you shouldn't generally have to know a band too well for them to shine live.

I am deliragh… saw Sigor Ros in London in 2008… was not well for a week afterwards (in a good way)..
Already have an early bird ticket too. Hoping for Bon Iver too.
Good mix of acts but I am holding out for more...

Yeah, its fine.

One thing i will say is that its eclectic enough to keep the oxygen crowd away, which i know was a big fear.

Anybody else rumored to be playing?

Sigur Ros outdoors don't have the same impact. Hopefully they will be in a tent. If they are playing on the Sunday. Might get a one day ticket.
