By the end he was wearing glasses talking about his feelings.. Greatest metal band my ass .

The Kings Of Metal are SLayer, SLayer have always been SLayer ,never strayed from the path and have never disappointed their fans. You can't say that about Metallica
saw Slayer last year and thought they were an amazing live band...would'nt be a huge fan of their stuff though..to me they are a bit like AC/DC and Iron Maiden in that every record is pretty much the same..fair enough if thats what they are comfortable with....i dont really buy into this "true metal" crap...Metallica were called sell outs in 1984 when they released Fade to Black...so what if they mellowed with the black album, cut their hair, played with an orchestra etc....James Hetfield is a 48 year old man..big deal if he gave up booze and got in touch with his feelings...

Load was a good album, re-load was crap and St Anger was even worse...In my opinion Death Magnetic was a very good album and a serious return to form.

Yes they suffered a bit of a backlash with Napster and people were a bit surprised by how open they were in Some Kind of Monster...i thought it wa sa fascinating look into the human side of a rock band...fiar play to em for letting it be released....at the end of the day they are still selling millions of records and playing football stadiums around the world so i dont think the backlash really affected them....

They were the greatest but they dropped the ball in the mid 90's.

Robert Trujillo looks like he may be about to sexually assault that lady.

considering its his wife your probably right....classic pic though

agree that they dropped the ball after Load although Death Magnetic was a huge improvement on St Anger...cant think of many better metal album released sine 2008....considering they released 5 or 6 fine albums between 83 and 96 they were bound to go stale...cant think of many bands who release more than 4/5 good albums in a row....

I can think of dozens. Most would be of the more extreme end of the scale but Mastodon, Paradise Lost, Orphaned Land, Intronaut, Hell and numerous others could be comparable to a certain extent soundwise and all have released albums that tower over anything Metallica have done in over a decade. Death Magnetic was a blip in a downward spiral that as Lulu attests seems to be a bottomless one

I know its a disgrace that these assholes would listen to something they like rather than something everyone else thinks they should like.
