ankle tap - some fat lad usually tripped by a small lad. Perfected by most lads in 1st class in most primary schools, rugby football has elevated to a 'skill'

peter stringer is a grand master of the skill

Quality Ball: A straight forward pass completion where the nearest opposition player is fifteen yards away. The equivalent would be a five year old playing catch with his granny in the garden where the only threat to the ball being caught is the dog who is locked in the shed.

"grubber kick" a scuffed attempt at a kick where the ball bobbles along and invariably goes out of play before anyone can get to it.

Reverse pass: An utterly pointless technique to try to show the crowd how 'skillful' you are. The equivalent in a soccer game would be the centre back heeling it to the goalkeeper when the nearest opposition player is twenty yards away.

'Resetting the scrum': both gangs of 18 stone oafs regularly forget a ball is involved and just start pushing each other simply because they like pushing each other until one lad ends up with his upper half sticking out the top, like a tank commander during WW2, looking at the ref as if to say "Who invented this stupid bastard of a game?" The ref admits he hasn't a fucking clue what's going on so they start all over again. He has a word with the scrum-half to let him know he should just throw the ball in as quickly as possible as these oafs are too thick to wait for it.

I think if we email this thread to the IRFU they might disband.

Point has been proven.
