Default Samsung S2

Thinking about getting a Samsung Galaxy S2 but I keep hearing from fellow tech heads that I should hold off because there are some seriously impressive new smart phones due for release early next year. Anyone have any details on this.

Is the S2 old tech at this point?

It's a nice enough piece of kit.

I almost bought one a few weeks ago.

A colleague of mine has one and is very pissed off that he has to charge it literally every 12 hours or so.

Stunning phone.

Charge it once a day and no issues with it.

All my friends who had i-phones have changed over to the S2 in the past 2 months.

Not sure.

I'd say the iphone is better, battery-wise.

The ipad last for up to 9 hours of constant streaming.

The Galaxy S2 is an excellent phone. I've had one since it was launched and not had any problems.

Regards the battery life smartphones tend to be thirsty and initially the S2 was no different. But there are ways to increase it or certainly limit the drain - just google or head over to the lads on XDA. With a custom ROM, custom kernel and freezing shite Samsung bloatware I comfortably get 40-48 hours of moderate use out of the battery.

Why not put an ad on gumtree asking for a swap (if you have an iphone)? that way you dont extend your contract with a phone you dont like and end up being stuck with it. It also gets you what you want and again could swap it back with someone else if you didnt like it.
