Hmm. Pretty dull sample menu there.

Still, might give it a go next time I'm home.

Went to Il Padrinos last week. Had the Penne Italiana, which I thought was lovely, nice atmosphere, good wine and didn't break the bank.
They've extended the place now, a Tapas bar after opening up in there.

Tis a grand spot for something (relatively) cheap and cheerful.

It starts with a Donatello's review and yet people take it seriously...

Well done, LD.

If you make your own pizzas, can you freeze them?
Just freeze the dough.

The County Hotel, Chelmsford.

Slightly drab decor, but a handy selection of ales, generous sandwiches and a reasonable price too, 50 quid for lunch and drinks for 6.

Points off for not knowing what a St. Clements is andfor being out of granary bread. Who runs out of bread?

3/5

on Annies, my only grip with the place is that when i last went, there was no menus, the menus are on a chalk board up on a wall, all very well if your sitting within eye distance of the boards but our table was up at the back left of the bar where we could not see the menus. So we had to take turns in going up and standing over people eating to decide what to have. Then when the girl eventually came to take our order half the table had forgotten what they had wanted...

Though, I have been informed that there is a new front of house so maybe he has managed to sort that little problem out...

Nah, I was there last night and there still arent menus on the tables. The menu is on a chalk board just inside the front door though, rather than near where people are eating.

It has been that way for a couple of years now though, i cant ever remember the board being behind the bar so it must be a good while ago.
