Default BBC Essential Mixes

seems to be loads of them uploaded to soundcloud now. been listening to a good few over the last few weeks

really like these ones. all very different from each other.....

Factory Records / Hacienda Special - Mixed by Pete Tong & Mike Pickering

(Indie to start with Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio etc and then on to Hacienda Classics - It was a tribute show to Tony Wilson when he died)

Greg Wilson

(Really good, funky with everything from Disco Tracks to Talking Heads, Stone Roses and The Rolling Stones. Think this one was voted one of the Best Essential Mixes of all time)

Sasha - Maida Vale Studios

(Bit frantic at the start but amazing in parts as it goes on, voted the best mix of that year in 2005)

the track 30 secs or so into the clip below is brilliant

Other Essential Mixes Available Here

anyone recommend some other Essential Mixes that are worth checking out....

I had hoped that people might provide the links to other mixes....

Found the Francois K ones anyway but not on soundcloud. Will definately give them a listen.

You can get them on Rapid Share

Francois K - Part 1

Francios K - Part 2

Soundcloud seems to be the best source though as a lot of sites which contain info on the Essential Mixes have a lot of dead/expired download links
