Jews the root of most world evils, Iranian vice-president insists
JEWS ARE behind the global trade in illegal drugs. They also murder black babies. Then there’s the 1917 Bolshevik revolution in Russia. They were behind that, too.
These are the views of Iran’s first vice president, Mohammed-Reza Rahimi, which he expressed at a United Nations conference in Tehran.
Mr Rahimi, second in line to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, told the gathering, which marked International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, that the Talmud, the Jewish book of oral tradition derived from the faith’s holy book, the Torah, which contains all the principles that govern daily life, teaches Jews to “destroy everyone who opposes the Jews”.
Mr Rahimi said “Zionists” were in firm control of the illegal drug trade, and challenged foreign dignitaries to research his claims.
“The spread of narcotics in the world emanates from the teachings of the Talmud... whose objective is the destruction of the world,” he said in comments published by the official website of President Ahmadinejad as well as by Iranian state media.
“The Talmud teaches that it is lawful to acquire wealth through legal and illegal means ... which gives [the Jews] the right to destroy humanity ... If one seeks what lies behind all forms of corruption, there is the repugnant face of Zionists. This is the same case for the narcotics trade ... whose primary operator is the Zionist regime ... The Zionists spread destruction not only by drugs, but also by [attacking] cultures.”
The phrase “Zionist regime” is generally used in Iran to mean the state of Israel.
Mr Rahimi also said: “The Islamic republic of Iran will pay for anybody who can find one single Zionist who is an addict. They do not exist. This is the proof of their involvement in the drugs trade.”
He further claimed that what he termed Zionists had ordered gynaecologists to kill black babies and that Jews started the Bolshevik revolution in 1917, adding that, mysteriously, no Jews died in that uprising.
The comments, made on Tuesday but reported yesterday, were condemned by Israel’s foreign minister, who said the Iranian government comprised anti-Semitic fanatics who sought Israel’s destruction.
Avigdor Lieberman criticised the fact that UN and European delegates remained at the anti-drug conference after Mr Rahimi blamed Jews, Zionists and the Talmud for the spread of illegal drugs around the world.
Mr Lieberman said their failure to walk out “provided legitimacy to the Iranian ayatollah regime, which poses a danger to peace for the entire world”. He said that the Iranian regime “isn’t comprised of lunatics, but of fanatics and anti-Semites with a structured doctrine who have a detailed global plan, including a core tenet, of destroying Israel”.
“The international community has still not internalised the immense danger posed by this regime to world peace. Hitler, too, said crazy things and succeeded in carrying out his plan.”
The New York Times quoted a European diplomat who attended the conference saying: “This was definitely one of the worst speeches I have heard in my life. My gut reaction was: ‘Why are we supporting any co-operation with these people?’”
The New York-based Anti-Defamation League called on UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to make clear that the comments were not only objectionable, but repugnant to the entire international community. “One would hope that this resurgence of dangerous anti-Semitic themes would shake up the moral, political, religious leadership to condemn it with a strong voice,” the organisation said.
| Hard to blame the Israelis for feeling a little paranoia about Iran, Liam?

TEHRAN, Iran — Israel’s existence is an “insult to all humanity,” Iran’s president said yesterday in one of his sharpest attacks yet against the Jewish state, as Israel openly debates whether to attack Iran over its nuclear program.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said confronting Israel is an effort to “protect the dignity of all human beings.”
“The existence of the Zionist regime is an insult to all humanity,” Ahmadinejad said. He was addressing worshippers at Tehran University after nationwide pro-Palestinian rallies, an annual event marking Jerusalem Day on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
Well what say you Liam?

Playing to an audience.
Although I think all states based on religion are an insult to humanity, be it Jews, Christian or Muslims, especially when people are kicked out of their homes and murdered to create that state

Israel is a democratic secular state Liam , Iran is a theocracy . No matter how many Al Jizz era news reports you read or Sky news blogs it still doesn't make your (frankly hilarious) assertion that Israel is ruled by religious fanatics true .
Then again with some of your howlers on the topic of the middle east it's fair to say what you know about the topic could be written on the back of a stamp.
P.S. Liam it might interest you to know that many of these Arab despotic states that you get the horn for kicked out their Jewish populations to create their states.

Lol, so you prefer to ignore the former head of Mossad because it suits you. Pathetic from someone who claims to be a serious debater.
I hate all religious based state ideologies, irrespective of whether they're Jewish, Muslim of Christian, I think I said that already, can you not read?

Jesus Liam you're clinging to that 'Former Mossad head' like a dog with a bone. That is merely one guys opinion not fact. Do you have anyother evidence to back up that claim beside that ?
