Finding it hard to get the interest levels up for the premiership this season. I would usually have watched one live game a week at least plus match of the day or the premiership. This year I just don't seem to have the interest. I have followed spurs for 23 years you would think I would be excited about this season!!
Maybe it's because of Corks great year in winning Sam. Maybe Im slowly realising that despite playing both gaa and soccer as a kid I am really a gaa person at heart!!

I'm exactly the same. I still watch an awful lot of soccer but I mainly treat it as a gambling medium at this stage. I found it hard to get too excited about last night's game as I was watching it. Twente were absolutely killed by the ref.

Agreed I think they will be a good price(7/4?) and a good bet to beat spurs in Holland!
Any sport that goes off free to air tv dies out after about 5 years.
Results become second hand news, and it loses the "buzz" factor.
I still have a mild passing interest, but that's about it.
It's also happening with rugby I think. A few years ago I could name munsters starting line up, now as I never watch the games I don't even know when they are playing.
There's a soccer overload. Premiership/SPL and other UK league games on a Sat and Sunday, usually a game on a Monday night, CL nearly every second Tues and Wed, Europa League on Thurs, Championship games on Fri. When CL isn't on there's Carling Cup and FA Cup games midweek. There's La Liga live every Sat and Sun night too as well as Seria A on Setanta. You've got the Internationals. And there's the soap opera that the tabloids run parallel to the season. Then there's domestic soccer. Way to much. Ever think you're finding it hard to keep interest levels up as by and large it is not that interesting? Sky build up games which rarely live up to the hype. There are a few crackers throughout the season but not many. I rarely watch a full 90 minute game, usually just keep an eye on games and scores. I love doing my coupons on the weekend but besides that I don't miss the soccer season as a whole during the summer.
It's an age thing. Nowadays I couldn't give a toss who wins what in the Prem. Age on my side and the whole enterprise/wages thing on the players' side of things. Fuck em, it's a business. At least with GAA you can follow your own almost 100%. Cork are Cork and your club will probably have neighbours or your cousins or nephews or whatever. So if the Glen are playing in the County semi-final and Liverpool (the team I followed as a kid) are playing in the PL, well it's obvious where my interest lies.
