Default Looking for Revelation Sound

Hi peoples of Cork,

I'm a french erasmus student in Cork, looking for some reggae music around here. Do you know where I could hear some ?
I know there is a sound system : Revelation sound (http://www.myspace.com/revelationsound1) but there isn't a lot of informations on their myspace, and no dates.

I heard this sound had welcomed the great jah shaka in the past, and i'm really hopping to see them soon...

has anyone got some informations ? would really love to enjoy sound system here... thanks in advance

Peace & guidance

What Present said Wiggle and Revelation Sound are two of the finest practitioners in Ireland and they always put on great shows

I was talking to a Revelation Sound member last week and they are just returned from the Electric Picnic recharging the batteries

as for Wiggle

Friday should be very good

Here's another one coming up in October

Zion Train are in Cork on Oct 8th, AFAIK

Keep an eye out for The Italics as well - nice funky, soulful, dubby vibes.

Definitely take the time to check out Intinn whenever they're in Cork again

Roots Factory have monthly reggae gigs in Limerick, if you're willing to travel - also The Rootical Soundsystem in Galway if you're up West

All these people can be found on Facebook, BTW

I think Harry J & The Conspiracy are playing every Sunday in Bru on MacCurtain St these days, and Avatar (10 piece jazzy dub reggae) from Kerry play occasionally in the Crane Lane. Intinn are a very good live band, usually play the Pavilion when in Cork(came in 2nd place in Europe for best new reggae band recently). Wiggle are deadly and play regularly around the city/county, and Revelation Sound have the biggest soundsystem in Cork (not for fragile ears!) and play in various spots like Cypress Ave and the Pavilion, and have brought over a lot of UK heads such as Jah Shaka, Mungos Hifi, Bush Chemists, and the Disciples. Their nights in The Attic (Secrets) were legendary! The Pavilion has held a couple Dub Conference nights where a lot of the the bands/soundsystems mentioned in this thread get together and do their thing collectively. There is a reggae/dub scene in Cork but most of these gigs are not regular so keep your eye out for posters/flyers etc. Welcome to Cork and happy hunting Mimoo!
