Default Big Welcome to Cork's New Senator - Ivor Callely

Big Fáilte to Cork's newest Senator!!! Hope you're learning Corkish Ivor!

From yesterday's Sindo:
CONTROVERSIAL Fianna Fail Senator Ivor Callely has been claiming overnight and travel expenses from a property owned by him in west Cork since he was appointed to the Seanad in 2007.

Documents secured under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that in 2008 alone Senator Callely claimed more than €40,000 under the scheme.

As controversy escalated over political expenses from 2009 onwards, the accident-prone senator made increasingly frantic attempts to reduce his expenses.

He recently returned an expenses cheque to the Dail of €3,987 -- but still managed to collect €81,015 since 2007.

Senator Callely said yesterday: "Following the loss of my Dail seat, I took up residence in Cork and received my appointment from that residence." He added: "As you can see from Freedom of Information, I do not claim my full entitlement on expenses."

Now with the new motorway stretch open, shure it'll be a doddle of a commute!

Wonder if other Cork Senators are worried?

Was having a problem with some headage payments and decided to see if the good Senator could help me. So I checked his website for contact and clinic details. And this is what I got:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 08:30am to 10:30am - by appointment only
Location: Constituency Office - 191 Howth Road, Killester Village (next door to Bank of Ireland - above Wan's Chinese)

Monday - Wednesday - Friday 10:00am to 12:00pm Tel: (01) 833 4331
Location: 191 Howth Road, Killester Village (next door to Bank of Ireland - above Wan's Chinese)
Never knew there was a Wan's in Kilcrohane. Neither did I know Howth Killester had moved to West Cork. What'll that do to the property prices???

He should be prosecuted for fraud plain and simple, a total misrepresentation of his old constituency. Fuck when there is so much deceit in the Government no wonder its going on wholesale at all levels. This is what has fucked this country
