Is there any kind of a goth/post punk scene in Cork?
There was Goth X for a while but that went away. The one or two times I went there it seemed a little empty, but I've seen pictures of it packed out too. There was the other yoke in Cyprus Avenue that played a bit of Sisters of Mercy and shit too.
Fred Zepplins is usually pretty good for general rock and metal, but it's not a place you go to meet people.
There doesn't seem to be as much interest in general around as there used to be.
"The Paul St. crowd are about as much "goths" as you are informed. "
Dumbass.

I know your probably minging, have a long leather jacket, collect comics and have yet to engage with the opposite sex.
It's amazing how people used to feel bad about ridiclous prejudices they pull out of their ass. Being a shitty person seems to be a badge of honour here.
Post punk and goth couldn't be further apart in my eyes.
Apart from The Cramps et al.
Bauhaus, Joy Division et. all were post punk acts that were later given the "goth" label and sounded pretty similar to al ot of the "goth" bands that came afterwards. Most post punk bands aren't "goth" but it's a bit of a stretch to say they're completely seperate.
Forgot how class New Model Army were actually. Had a friend from Sheffield who was well into them. They're meant to have a strange bunch of fans, a mix of big muscly clog wearing guys and small goth girls apparently.
Hey Haro, why don't you set up your own night and take it from there? See if a venue in town would be up for it (maybe as a once off to gauge how well it worked/didn't work), rent or borrow a PA/decks and make your own posters and fliers. Why not encourage fancy dress like the Black Metal night in the Infirmary organised by Niamh New Noise? That night didn't become a regular club night but it was amazing craic. Even if it doesn't catch on as a regular thing, you'll get to hear all your favourite stuff played in a venue surrounded by all your friends.
