Default It's Music Presents Maurice Fulton Feb 27th

Maurice Fulton plays in a league of his very own. Starting out in 1982 in his hometown of Baltimore by the tender age of 13, Fulton dubbed himself Dr. Scratch because he was cutting more Hip Hop beats than Philip Roth's Seymour Levov gloves. Thrown off by the growing violence in the Rap Biz, Fulton was soon attracted by the Disco, House and Freestyle implosion in New York's dance scene and made trips to places like Tony Humphries' Zanzibar and Larry Levan's Paradise Garage. Shortly after that, he teamed up with the infamous Basemnt Boys production team and was involved in worldwide hits like Crystal Waters "Gypsy Woman" and records like "Love, Love, Love" by Those Guys. A man of a trillion monikers, Fulton released as Ladyvipb, Eddie & The Eggs, Syclops, Stress or Boof on labels like Tirk, Cottage, Spectrum, Transfusion, Warp and Nuphonic. Being a modern nomad and designated globetrotter, his ways led him from Baltimore to New York and via Finland (where he worked with Jimi Tenor and Nicole Willis) to Melbourne, Australia. These days he resides in Sheffield, where he records together with his wife MU breathtaking Punk music you can dance to. There is no way to argue: Fulton is on the cutting edge of today's Disco music.

Support on the nite is just as hot this month

Mr Rickus is flying all the way back from Barfalona to join us for the party.Along with djs Paudie,Ben,John Daly,Denis Cullnane Rick was part of the first wave of jazz funkers in the mid-nineties.These Kats played varied and instinctual soundz in many joints downtown.Presently Rick resides & works as a music promotor in catalonia. He's played with alot of well know artists at some stage or another.A ladies man through and through Rick will be bringing his personal take on rare groove and soul plus some gems to the bru.

Colm k-prob no need for a biog but here's my t'pence worth!(for anyone who doesn't know him)He specialises in Hip-Hop, Soul & Funk&Disco has played all over the country, supported alot of big names-part of red bull music academy in 2003,choice cuts, freezer room-plus he's been producing music-edits/remixes for the last few years.Last year he produced a few tracks for Brian Deady's ever growing "Interview" album.

On a personal note its been ten years since we played reckords together as nippers in Sir Henrys so im looking forward to his set.Colm will be bringing his eclecticsoul vibes to the bru.

I'll be fusing modern soul, funk, boogie, disco originals and disco edits with maybe a touch of jazzfunk.Oh yes!

Our man Paul - ENFP VISUALS - will be overlooking proceedings from the crows nest for the evening.Do give him a wave.He gets lonely up there!

"One of the most enjoyable gigs I've been to in Cork in I dunno how long. Thought Wang was outstanding, great fun start to finish" - Rocky Black (Proc)

"It's Music is a tiny, intimate, but incredibly fun night for the groovers of the Southwestern Irish coast for whom the sound (very good) was
apparently much more important than even the stout beer!
I had such a nice time there last week (in Jan 2010)"
- D,Wang.

Prob for peeps who like their soundz a little left of centre!Do come along!Tell your friends, loosen up and get down to the music.

If you'd like to come along please drop me a mail(through facebook) or just give me a buzz. We need to get some info from you. It'll just make things a little easier on the nite.

The album he produced for Kathy Diamond a few years back is wicked.. used to play quite a bit of it. Really looking forward to this - i've heard only good things about Mr Fulton.. Also looking forward to spinning with Mr Rickus & Brian too, long time.. long time...
