Default 25M pools with good gyms in Cork

Hi guys,
Currently joined in the Mardyke Arena and today I've officially had enough of having one lane opened every time I go in for a swim because of kiddies classes. It's not the kiddies that I've an issue with it's the lack of swim lanes. There was only one today which was full of people that could not swim. I need to find a good 25M pool in Cork where my swimming won't be hindered all that much.

I know of the following 25M pools:

Mardyke - they can fuck off now, I've had enough.
Leisureworld Bishopstown - not too fond of it
Leisureworld Churchfield - not sure what it's like so I need opinions of anyone that has been there?

And that's it. Are there anymore with a good gym where I won't constantly have to put up with having one lane to swim in?

churchfield all the way. only 1 lane, but always quiet. as you reach the deep{ish} end, you swim against a current from the filter pump jet thingy, an added bonus.
if any one from churchfield is reading this, please take note.

GET A FREE WEIGHT BENCH PRESS IN for fuck sake like.
to me its the same as building the pool and putting in no water.

Thanks Tim. Churchfield is a bit out of my way, but I'd get over it in order to have a proper swim. What's the gym there like?

I just googled there and found Silvesprings has a 25M pool, and it's a bit closer for me. What is the gym threre like, does anyone know? And is it busy?

Nope, but I just read it there. I rarely visit the current affairs forum. Nice one, man. Thanks a lot. Great tips there. I'll can start doing those hills and put on the extra weight as well. Awesome.

Gym and pool are excellent there. Serious swimmers are up there training all the time e.g The one that swam the channel recently. Gym can be busy between 6 and 8 but rest of the time its easy to access weights, machines etc. Also tennis and squash courts there as well as some very good classes!!

Nice one. I'll go up and have a look then. Looks like I might have found my new haunting!

The Mardyke is a bit of a joke alright, unless you go first thing in the morning.

Brookfield has a 25mtr pool and it's fairly quiet. If you're in the Mardyke then that probably suits location wise.

Mardyke is gone beyond a joke at this stage. It's getting worse and worse the past few months. I'm not the only one that is sick of it. I know a good few other swimmers that go in there that are cancelling their membership and going elsewhere because they just can't swim there anymore. Yeah, I get lessons in Brookfield, but the gym is cat, so not going there.

I'm getting increasing pool rage in the Mardyke...the amount of tools who can't swim or know nothing about lane-swimming etiquette...plus the overcrowding at a LOT of times
The only positive about that place is my (half) free student membership. If I could afford to pay to swim somewhere else I'd be off in a flash.
