Default Champions League 09/10

didnt realise that if z german teams do better than the italian teams this year then italy loses its 4th spot to germany!! Thats interesting to note and probably why germany have outspent spain & italy this season

Erm....... Real Madrid went on a bit of a spree coming close to €250m and Barca forked out 40m sheckels on Ibra. So I don't know about that.

It's going to be better having it on a saturday night. RM will be going all out to win it on their own patch, having said that Barca would love to win it there as well. No real outsiders I'd say you could name 6/7 of the quarter finalists in the three or four english teams and the two spanish and prob Inter.

I think Italy well do a bit better in the CL this season, the PL sides have had a hoodoo over them, but all their defeats against PL sides last term were close run affairs and their record against Spanish teams is sound. Not having Roma in the CL will hurt their co-efficient though. If Germany is to pull ahead of Italy this year, it will be down to the UEFA cup standings where their sides have been consistently outperforming the Serie A clubs for some time.
