Beard Seeking Missile formed in July 2006 and are still rockin’ as hard as ever albeit with a more refined sound combining stoner rock, grunge. They recorded an E.P. in early 2008 with Ross O' Donnovan(Data Recording Studios) which is due to be released mid-2009.
In February they released 'Dreamermode' as a single in The Quad and the very next week 'Dreamermode' went to no.1 in the Irish download charts.
Our band is called My Mothers Son. We like to play loud, energetic music. Shane and Steve and Fergus used to play in Les Enfants Terribles (myspace.com/lesenfantsterriblesl imerick) until it broke up in mid 2008 due to recurring gender issues. They were like 'Aw mawn, Bummer...' But one stormy night on the sea's of the Shannon, they met a pirate named Gary, who used to front Nixons Mother and he offered to front this new musical and artistic venture.Delighted with that, the ice was broken with a mutually consented orgy, which resulted in a barrage of TUNES! ...And with tunes in hand and the summer on the horizon we set sail for gigland.
Big Red mix rock, blues and a little bit of country to make a truly original sound. A hard working tight unit comprised of the simple combination of Guitars, Bass, Drums and Vocals, their live shows have earned them a reputation as a band not to be missed.
Days Of Night began as an instrumental band in 2004. With a strong drive and a creative twist for melody, Days Of Night became a much talked about instrumental metal act. Their biggest influence was the rural, baron land which had spawned them. While still being instrumental, the band had played with the likes Carnun Rising, Iron Hearse and Battlewitch.
It was in early 2007 when the band decided they needed a vocalist to go with their heavy metallic melodies. That's when Days Of Night came across Hughes, formerly vocalist for freak band Grungir. Hughes seemed to click well with the band and they quickly gained a reputation or being a deadly live force. Hughes seemed to bring a bit of the "freak" element into the band which set Days Of Night apart from most metal bands.
In the autumn of 2007, a rough, live recording was made in west cork. Theses recordings are what you hear on the myspace page and they fail dramatically to get the point across. Live shows are energetic and can be quite surprising. Days Of Night live is a completely different experience...
Days Of Night have played with the likes of Vreid, Thurisaz, Gorath, Negura Bunget, Mael Mordha, Sirocco, Shall We Die, Shardborne, Ex-Inferus, Diabolicus, Crowning Glory, Five Will Die and Thoughts Of Ruin as well as alongside Amon Amarth, Primordial and Skyclad as part of Cork Winterfest '07/'08...
A new recording has started and should be released in the near future..
