Default Neon Flea Circus + Subplots + Miracle Bell - March 19th Bootleg @ The Pavilion

Bootleg
The Pavilion
Thursday March 19th

featuring

Neon Flea Circus
Doors 9.30pm €6 before 10pm / €8 after.

Drawing inspiration from a plethora of great musicians, (Jethro Tull, Rory Gallagher, Peter Green, Small Faces and Amp Fiddler to name but a few) Neon Flea Circus are a band to guarantee you something different every time. Theirs is a music that doesn't focus on political rhetoric or doom & gloom, preferring instead to poke a little fun back into the ever increasingly serious world of entertainment.

Not content to use, abuse and misuse quirky wordplay, lyrical jokes and lighthearted topsy-turvy, they do so on top of grooves that would make even your cool uncle blush, they'll also happily chat up your younger sister while your mother tells her friends what nice boys they are*

Denouncing the established musical demographic “ young or old, some with preference for ballads or others into loud rock, some who only want to dance, others who take their music seriously, those of you who like variation in their music “ would do well to pencil NFC in for a night out.

From Balls-out Blues to Chunky Funk, NFC* bring their audience through an array of styles. Their live shows tend towards grabbing together pinches of Tango, German-Techno, Yiddish Klesmer, 60's psyche, putting them into a big pot, stirring and singing to it for a while, and then seeing what kind of soup emerges.

The only way to know for sure is to go see them.

Also playing are the ever excellent Subplots and Indie group Miracle Bell.

Subplots

We are a three piece band from Dublin. Two of us used to be in a band called envelope. In 2007 we became Subplots, we played the IMRO best of showcase, recorded a 2fm session, played some gigs in various corners of Ireland with some very nice bands to some very nice people and we began recording our debut album. This is going rather swimmingly, and thus far..... we like it..

In April of this year we released a new single, 'Alarm', the first release from our ongoing album sessions. This has been followed by our new EP 'We Carved Our Names in Glass' released through Cableattack!! Records in August. The EP was launched with a special gig in Whelans in Dublin on August 14th. Keep an eye on our page for more tour dates at home and abroad which will be announced over the coming weeks and also more recording diaries as we put the finishing touches to our album!
