there should be some service, a bus to Carlow or Athy should get you there..

Only a guess but I'd imagine that they have taxi's in Portlaoise.

theres a couple of privately run buses going out to the site, cashing in, just down the road from Supermacs, near the Bus Eireann bus stop

Why not? To guess, I say the fair would be €15 - €20 at the most.
Pay €20 for a taxi or drag all your weekend supplies on a bus.
I know what I'd be doing.......if I wasn't getting a lift.
