Very good fight . Taylor was much more improved than the first fight but just wasn't busy enough . Pavlik put in a classy performace for a guy who didn't seem 100% physically.
Pavlik is a couple of levels above Duddy and would pound him . Duddy would be luck to get to round 4 with the power of Pavlik .

Yep.
Much as I think Duddy is a decent fighter, it is way way too early for him to be taking on the likes of Pavlik. Not too sure it'll happen this time though......Pavliks manager mentioned Felix Trinidad after the fight on saturday night.....much much bigger payday for Pavlik if they go down that route compared to Duddy..........might be good news for Duddy if they use it to his advantage.........ma ke it look like he's chasing Pavlik and in the meantime pick up 2/3 good tough fights against a better class of opponents.......I think even somebody like Matthew Macklin would be a good fight..........he's mixed it at a decent level at european level and is on the verge of world level as well.
Anybody watch the Williams / Quintana fight last week. Thought it was a cracker myself.
Williams put of something like 18 pounds between the weigh in and fight!!!! Hes a big man but holy shit...18 pounds in 24 hours?
Despite the huge differences in terms of height/reach/weight Quintana was brilliant, kept catching his man with the big left hand. Well deserved the win. Also goes to show just how good Cotto is to have beaten Quintana previously.

Says alot about how much he must have drained himself in the days before the fight just to make weight!!! Can actually be lethal dangerous and is something that the governing bodies are now looking at regulating.......... ..something along the lines of a fighter must be within a certain % of the fight weight a month before the fight, and they're weighed on the morning of the fight as well and must be within 7lbs of the weight.
The weigh-in after the weigh in is already happening in some organisations world title fights.

Only right to thats ome controls are in place, 18 pounds is incredible, i have never come across anything like that. What the hell would you do to put that amount on in 24 hours, surely your body wouldnt be to pleased.

Well, the thing is, most of that weight would have been lost through a combination of cutting back on food and dehydration in the few days before the weigh in..........18lbs isn't unfeasible either......back when i was fighting, I used to drop 6kg or so in the week before a fight (approx 14lbs)......after weighing in, I would have put a fair chunk of that back on before stepping in the ring the following night.
