It's nice to see that the local stand up Comedy scene here in Cork is starting to pick up. I called in to the Craichouse and was pleased to see a full house, with new comedians, it's hard work but I hope the Craichouse keeps it up, Cork needs a venue like this more importantly the local comedians need this club, so well done all in the Craichouse. I have sent in about 12 friends over the past few weeks and all were greatly impressed.
Great news that Barrel O' Laughs has made a return to Cyprus Avenue, I went last Tuesday night to see Steve Hughes, I have seen him before but it's not often you can catch him here in Ireland. The best part was the price of only€10. I think City Limits Comedy should take note of these prices and take off their bandits masks and charge reasonable prices. Also nice surprise was to see Pat O Shea Mc, I always enjoy the guy but last Tuesday he seemed to be enjoying himself, when you see this you know he's at his best. Also enjoyed the support Blake, with time he will do very well at Stand up.
Last but not least I went to Neil Delamere at UCC rag Week, what did he charge for this gig €2,500-€3,500, a rip off when it's for charity. But the main question is for UCC themselves why oh why did you not have UCC comedians doing Mc and support, your comedians have the talent so why were they passed over , whst did the headline and mc cost you, where was the charity here???
