So in the santa-spirit I want to get myself a mixer, but don't really see the point in my forking out shitloads on one with all these fancy knobs and buttons that I'm never going to use. I'm just going to use it to learn how to mix on, and if I get all serious on myself I can upgrade at that stage.
I want to add serato to my two turntables eventually. I have no intention of getting CDJs. Will this mean I'll need a four-channel mixer or would two do?
Is it worthwhile getting a split-cue thingy for the headset?
What would people recommend, in the cheaper scale, yet not crossing into the pile-of-shit territory?

Youre better off not learning on split cue imo.
Just use one ear for your headphones, one ear to hear the monitor/speakers.
I have the worst habit in the world, i use both cups of the headphone, without even using split cue!
Much harder to hear the mix that way.
Check out www.turntablelab.com, theyre the cheapest by far, and they usually put down gift on the package to avoid customs duty.
Kennedy bought a mixer for them for half nothing, its amazing for the price, has an optical cross fader too and has lasted him longer than any other crossfader which had to be replaced for a saucy price.
I cant remember the make though, they sell ones with usb capability too.
i have a Stanton smx 401 and i love it nothin fancy bout it its a nice smooth mixer with great kill switches think its round 350euro id highly recomend it
