Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Staunton has just resigned from his post. The FAI received the letter from Staunton this evening, in the statement Staunton said that, "I have always held the
respect of the Irish fans from my playing days with Ireland. But last
nights reaction was the final straw. I feel bitterly disappointed for
the fans and I feel let down by the players for their performance
against Cyprus last night.". Staunton's tenure as Ireland manager has
been riddled with poor results and poor performances and last night's
1-1 draw had Irish fans booing throughout the night.......
