That is the island of Ireland. It is made up of two separate states: Ireland, which is an independent sovereign democratic republic, and Northern Ireland, which itself is part of The United Kingdom Of Great Britain And Northern Ireland, a democratic, constitutional, monarchy.

Now what is your point?

Soooo, anyway.

Argentina are a bit good eh? Hernandez announces himself as a bit of a star. Their fans are crackers as well with the jumping and scarf waving.

Not sure about their views on the definition of 'Irishness' and what-not but hey ho.

There were a few of them on that David McWilliams show last night and they were definitely proud of their Irishness.

Did you know that the largest single batch of immigrants to Argentina (2000) were Irish, and that 12% of Argentinians are of Irish descent?

We won't even allow them to visit here on tourist visas because we are afraid they will stay here illegally.

("We" in this instance being official Irish policy, which I vehemently disagree with.)

Eejits.
The country needs four things: good animal husbandry, good rugby players, good dancers, and hot chicks. The Argentinians could provide all that.

Apparantly, their navy was founded by an Irishman (William Brown) though Lamps probably wouldn't see him as a true Irishman. Does getting press-ganged out of an American ship make you "British" in Lamps eyes, I wonder. I bet it does.
