The problem with irish soccer is the fact that the players are shit and half of them are english any way who were too crap to get selected for england. Soccer fans in ireland are too busy supporting foreign clubs, buying their jerseys, going to their matches etc instead of supporting irish clubs. Thats why the irish soccer leagues are a joke and of a pityful standard of play and also why the national team have never won an international competition in the history of the game.

Breaking news, the vast majority of nations haven't won anything. Countries with bigger populations and better domestic leagues than ours have had trouble getting much further in world cups than Ireland.
Up until last night I wasn't in favour of sacking Stan, but after seeing his team selection cost us our place at another finals, I have changed my mind. The team are good enough and there are more players developing but I don't believe Stan can get them to SA 2010. Why he persists with having full backs on the opposite side to the one they are accustomed to I don't know, it is frustrating because the minute Hunt came on we were a different team.
He must have some reason why he does this but I just can't fathom it
