Default Gatty set to roar.

I heard on the wireless this morning that gatland has been offered the lions. I have to say it's left me with mixed feelings. Obviously gatty is the best man for the job, that isn't the problem. As we all know deccie wanted the job and initially I was happy he didn't get it as he'd make a balls of it the same way he did with arland. Then I realized that the lions was probably arlands best chance of getting rid of him as it's now clear that he won't leave the arland job until he is forced out.

As an aside here's my lions team at the minute.

1. Jenkins
2. Hartley
3. Jones
4. Grey
5. Lawes
6. Ferris/O'Brien
7. Warburton
8. O' Brien/Faletau
9. Phillips
10. Sexto/Priestland
11. North
12. Roberts
13. O' Driscoll
14. Ashton
15. Kearney

Lawes?
Hartley?

Not good enough and considering your reaction to Jerry Flannery's retirement and his past indiscretion, foul play and punishment, I'm surprised you'd have them on your team!!

I'd definitely have O'Connell in for lawes.

I don't think Ashton has the form to make it, I'd have Cuthbert on current form.

Sin Binnings waiting to happen. Gatty is smarter than that. Anyway, Hartley will be on the plane home by the first test, assuming that he gets out on bail.

I'd largely agree with most of your selections, but you can be fairly fucking sure that Warren won't. He'll have Halfpenny ahead of Kearney and Cuthbert ahead of Ashton. I don't know how the fuck you have Cuthbert behind the totally anonymous Ashton, based on the 6N.

Lawes is a much better player that o' connell. I'd have him in the squad for his experience but as regards to who's the better player i'd have lawes for his engine alone never mind the fact that he's probably the best tackler in the game definitely the northern hemisphere. Hartly is there owing to the lack of decent hookers, either that or get servat an irish passport.

You have to go with the best players. As I said hartley is there due to a lack of hookers and lawes is a top class 2nd row. Along with grey you have a genuine attacking threat which is rare from a 2nd row pairing.
Kearney is a shoe in, if arland weren't as shit he'd have got player of the tournament. I'm yet to be convinced by cuthbert, ashton is rusty due to a lack of game time at club level. Regardless of how much of a cunt he is you have to admit that he's a fantastic winger. On top of that i'd have bowe before cuthbert, the amount of tries he got playing in such a poor backline is nothing short of amazing.

Bit of a no brainer, Warburton for captain too methinks.

Still another 6N and this years and next years Heiners cup. A long way to go, players can lose and regain form between now and then.
You would have to think that Wales will heavily feature in the 15/22, rightly so too. Rees, Lydiate, Warburton, Faletau, Phillips, North, Preistland would probably start if the first test was tomorrow

Lawes in my opinion has flattered to deceive as a player. Just a load of Sky Sports and English hype. He is also seriously indisciplined and is a penalty magnet.

O'Connell is a far better player although older but as you say imuch more experienced.

Hartley probably is at the top of the selection ladder as there is a deficity of top class hookers, but he is indisciplined mutt and would be 50/50 in my book to make the team.

If it was the Ashton of last year then I would definitely pick him, but the Ashton of this year has been terrible!

You have to pick on form!
