According to an exclusive report by John Cross in The Mirror today, Spurs are the club who have had a £10million bid for Southampton's Gareth Bale accepted.

The report claims that Martin Jol was 'locked in negotiations' with the 17-year-old Wales international left-back.

It is thought that Sir Alex Ferguson will also bid again having had an £8million offer turned now last week and it is claimed that Jol will have a 'huge task' to convince Bale his future lies at White Hart Lane.

Southampton manager George Burley said: 'At some point Gareth will go, but he will be here until the end of the season' so the disharmony at The Saints could continue now the board have accepted an offer.

It is claimed that Manchester United will let Argentinean left-back Gabriel Heinze leave in the summer if they do attract Bale to Old Trafford.
The Telegraph meanwhile say: Jol also emphasised last night that he was not behind a reported £10 million approach for Southampton's Gareth Bale

I will keep this short and sweet. Spurs and Southampton have agreed a fee for the services of teenage Welsh sensation Gareth Bale.

The 17 year old hasn't even notched up 50 first team apperances for the Saints yet but has been high in demand by numerous Premiership clubs since his emergnece last season.

After the Saints missed out on Promotion this week it was always a possibility he would move on. Lets just hope this time round we finally get our man (well boy). That sounds wrong doesn't it, but you know what I mean!!

No fee has been released as of yet, but it was reported this morning as £6Million up front with £4Million add ons depending on how Bale and the team do over the course of his tenure with us.

All we need now is for Bale to ACTUALY agree terms, go on son you know you want to!!!

Maybe we will have a new LB at the Lane next season. Looks like YP Lee will be the one to go as Ekotto was only signed last Summe

wonder if they were hoping United would increase their offer?

Saints Deny Bale Reports
Wed 23 May, 01:09 PM

Southampton have denied reports suggesting Tottenham have agreed a deal for Gareth Bale.
The Premiership side are long-term admirers of the 17-year-old Welshman and have been hotly tipped to sign him.
Manchester United have also been mooted as a possible destination for Bale, but Spurs were claimed to have made the first move.
Reports this week suggested Saints resigned to Bale's exit after missing out on promotion to the Premiership via the play-offs.

Bale didn't impress me much when playing for Wales against Ireland even though he was part of a cack team. I'm just hoping Spurs aren't going back to the bad old days of spending too much on unproven players. Has anybody seen this Younes guy play?
