Internationally renowned actor, Sir Tom Courtenay, makes his first stage appearance in Cork with his acclaimed solo show, “Pretending to Be Me” tomorrow night (Tuesday, November 9th) at The Everyman Palace Theatre.
Sir Tom received Oscar Nominations for his performance in “The Dresser” and Dr Zhivago.” Other notable film and television work includes “The Golden Compass”, “Billy Liar” and “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner” as well as “Little Dorrit.
A searing and funny evocation of the life of poet Philip Larkin, “Pretending To Be Me” combines some of Larkin’s most memorable poetry, letters and articles, to produce a compelling portrait of a complex and controversial artist.
