As Cloudy said there is a difference between gambling and betting, the gambler will bet on anything whether he has knowledge or not hence betting on virtual racing, playing slots in their online casinos, picking outsiders for no other reason than chasing a return etc, someone who bets strategically will only bet when he has a view on something and also has a degree of knowledge of the event, this does not guarantee he will win but it gives him a far better chance than the idiot who may as well be throwing darts at a dartboard with a blindfold on, as opposed to the person who bets on his sporting knowledge, of course there are people who think they know more than they actually do, but c'est la vie.
I agree with what you say BUT you speak about a very small minority the majority are targetted with free bets and the sad fellas imho are the fellas that bet on 'virtual sports'.As with what cloudy says, everybody thinks they're betting strategically to begin with but only a small % have the constraint to not go chasing or hold onto their winnings until the 'next good thing comes along'.

That's fair enough. Not throwing away your cash certainly takes discipline but is totally doable at the same time.
