Offaly have had a great O Byrne Cup campaign winning four matches(not against the big Leinster counties) and narrowly beaten in the final by Longford. A win is vital and wont be asy I´m guessing. Our second opponents Leitrim are in disarray.

Saw offaly last year, they were brutal. They have their putative saviour playing this year but I think we should have enough. Wouldn't put the house on them, mind you.

Weather is supposed to be shocking Saturday, will be a poor enough turnout.

Think the worst of it is Sunday they're saying. Hopefully a few will pop along to inspect the new pitch

That's a potentially exciting team on paper. The full forward line alone has the potential to score well if the deliveries inside are good. Gore and O'Mahony are going to be fairly raw to begin with, but if developed properly, they can become mainstays on the team. I'm a big fan of White, I think he can become one of the leaders on this team.

Again, Hartnett may need time to find his feet but talent is not an issue for this guy.

The half back line probably lacks a traditional stopper in the middle (Meehan maybe in a few weeks time?). We are probably short a couple of man markers at the back, lads you could throw on the opposition's main man to keep him quiet. Ring could become one of those touch tight defenders we lack. Crowley too, if he could stay injury free for a while.

Be great to see Powter back in action. Fingers crossed he gets a bit of a break from the hamstring injuries.

So a strong team that should be winning these types of games fairly comfortably.

Shanley if he fills out will come in there maybe eventually . Powter will be spare man in an Offaly 2 man FF line.

I presume there´s another 10/12 lads training who havent made the 26. No Nemo players -presumably werent considered. Who else is missing? McSweeney, B Hurley,
