Default Aslan - a fairly poor band ?

I mean their new "single" Too Late for Hallelujah is being played to death on 2fm and Todayfm ...
I'm sick to death of hearing yer man Christy Dignam wailing like a sick donkey - why do they insist on recording a song with such a range of high notes that he is clearly under intense pressure to reach.
Their past musical history is patchy to say the least. They celebrated 20 or 30 years in the "music business" there lately...they don't have much to celebrate if you ask me.
IMO like.
Gets on my goat when "Dublin" bands are played to death on the raydeeoo when several superior bands from around the rest of the island go unnoticed.
Discuss.
If ye want.

Dont even think it deserves a thread. It's common knowledge how shit they are.

I just can't figure how they are top of the charts with this mediocre song with totally tuneless singing from the bowld Christy.
Is it just 'cause they are from Dublin and have all the radio D.J.'s in their pocket????
If a song is played enough on the radio, eventually some apes will buy it.
Emperor's new clothes syndrome etc etc.
Makes me sick.
It's on 2fm now as I write. (yeaaaaaaaaaaaawn)

Ha ha ha - true.
U2 wouldn't exactly rock my world either, btw. Sorry for the offence this may cause.

The Reason Christy cant sing it is, they didnt write it, , Dub Don Mescall wrote it, , the same man responsable for songs recorded by roan keeting, boyzone, Backstreetboys , Brian Kennedy etc. .
Dont know if they have enough copon even to drop it a key or two to make it more comfortable for vocals
This is their first sucessful single since crazy world released in '93, , which went on to be reissued and remixed and released many many times throughout their career...
They really grate on me

I remember them getting a lot of airtime and media coverage in the 80s. I could never see why, they were very limited I thought.
