Can someone recommend a good FREE PC sound recorder program?
I'm trying to download a good PC sound recorder to convert audio vi the mic input on a PC to wav or MP3 files. ANy of the free programs I've found seem restricted to 64k.. Can anyone recommend anything or point me to a download site? Or a .torrent file anywhere?

Cheers, I was using the polderbits one but my eval ran out and didn't want to pay for it!! I saw the audacity one mentioned in the LSS thread am trying that now. Looks pretty good and opensource so free! Huzzah!

This has a fully functional free trial which lasts for ages.
I've have used it to record vocals + accoustic, electric and bass guitars and have always been very happy with the results. There are a large number of features also for cleaning up the sound such as hiss and noise removal which work very well.
