Thanks for the informed contributions Bin.
In a nutshell, are the days of being in DANGER of buying a non Saorview TV or box (from Tesco etc) over?

Dunnes Stores are flogging off boxes at the moment that are not-fully compliant so the danger is still there.
The best thing is to look at the official list on the Saorview site for certified stuff.
Also, don't rush into anything, there will be loads of bargins at the time of the switchover and better machines such recorders etc out then.

has any body worked out a way to use one box per house instead of one per tv. I mean I have only one arial on my roof!

Ya can split the cable from your aerial to go into each room of your house, ya can then buy some mpeg4 receivers from china for less than €20 each, thats what i did anyways.
