Default NCT - Check for Warning Lights

My daughter's car (Honda Jazz) is due an NCT soon. She is a little on the short side, so sits close to the steering wheel. She was advised to disable the driver's airbag. I did that - removed the fuse.

I have now put back the fuse, but the airbag light (yellow) is staying on. Is this grounds for failing the NCT?

Someone told me that I would have to get a software update to get the light to turn off. Is this correct? Do I have to go to a main dealer to get this done?

Thanks, in advance

Or you could take out the clocks and pull out the bulb. I had to do that before to pass the nct

The dealers shouldn't charge that much to do a scan €50 to €100.. but if the light remains on after reset, it could cost ya, even if its a loose wire!

If its something ya want to do yourself, disconnect the battery for 30 mins, and blow the horn (which empties the capacitors) that will reset the cars computer but be sure to have codes for the stereo, alarm etc..

Btw, I'm 99% sure that the car wont fail nct because of the srs light..

For safety reasons I would take it main dealer..

It would fail with the new NCT rules but they are not in yet.

you should be able to pull out the fuse labelled backup for ten seconds - this should reset most everything.

I have a OBDII code reader (ebay 20euro). Plug it into the diagnostic socket and hit "delete code" and the light will go out, no need for pulling bulbs/messing with fuses.

Easy peasy.

Good luck with your test.
