Havnt been near Cork for de Jazz in 5 years. An awful marketing venture for Guiness that most actual Cork people actively avoid.

True that. Most real Cork people like myself and yourself wouldn't touch the jazz with one or those large poles generally used for pushing barges.

Yup, jobbing musicians in the metropole or the imperial and hordes of dubs and animals drinking plastic glasses of swill at inflated proces. No thanks.

Then my sweeping generalisation must have some subtle flaws. You're one of the good guys.

Perhaps the only people who don't enjoy it are the miserable Dubs who come down expecting everyone to understand their awful accents and embrace them like old friends from the big smoke when in reality everyone just views them with contempt and only smiles when they're handing over their Dublin dollars for rubbish pints of Hop House.

Metropole was jointed. Lots of drunk people being escorted out by security. Not as hard as previous years to get served at the bars. But in spite of this loads of drunks, and a noticeably younger demographic to previous years. Methinks the concept of “Pre drinking,” has had a big impact.

Also, what’s the story with the Stella Artois Cidre? Is that a Diageo product? And if so, why no Stella Artois Lager?

Just rockshore, carlsberg and hop house 13.
Funnily enough, no Budweiser. Maybe Diageo have dropped it.

I smile when I see them.

That innate smug sense of superiority kicks in, as I pretend to like them, and laugh incessantly to myself.

The atmosphere around the City was brilliant all weekend. The Jazz festival is a huge success for our City. We are lucky to have it.

I agree.

How many people will leave the town this weekend, and recommend it to friends and family as a place to visit?
