Tbf it's going to hit both airports but Dublin have much more staff and will need way less going forward. Like it or not its airport was booming and it's all gone to shit. Cork airport hadnt risen so high so will have less to fall.

As an aside I travelled through Cork airport at the end of last year after many years of going through Dublin because the flights I needed didnt go from Cork.
It was an absolute pleasure compared to the cattle market Dublin had become.
Absolutely.

A few years ago I needed to go to the UK on a frequent basis for personal reason. As I was flying a lot, and the flights were so much cheaper from Dublin, I did use it and air coach quite a bit to save money.

But for a one off flight I'd pay a lot more just to go from Cork.

Small airports are so much nicer.

That's because the likes of RTE, Iarnoid Eireann and Bus Eireann are not real business's.
If they were by God they would and fairly rapidly as well.

Im done flying from Dublin.

It's a shithole and the extra 3 hour journey home is soul destroying at the end of a journey.

Il go Cork-London or Cork-Amsterdam.

Don't have to worry about it for the foreseeable

Yeah, me too unless there's no alternative.

Nothing like landing in Cork.

I know that, but rather than be in existence for their staff, they should be in existence to serve the public.

They should be ran as not for profit businesses, rather than the it does not matter attitude or the it is only the union that matters mentality

Have just forked out the difference.
It's worth it.

Dublin is a pain in the hole.

100%. Nothing worse than last day of your holiday and realising you're landing into Dublin at midnight, probably delayed and a fight to stay awake driving past Urlingford on the way home. Cork airport all the way.

Yup,

I'd rather take a connecting flight from London or Amsterdam and have a short drive home after your trip.

Driving home for hours when you are already tired from a days travelling is just not worth it. Got connecting flights to Cork on my last long haul trip. It was a bit more expensive than Dublin but worth every cent.
