Id worry about Tom vs the pace of any of the Clare forwards or midfielders tbh. No doubting he has more big game exp and probably more hurling then some of the other options but Clare play at 100mph with 2 nd 3 fellas swarming all the time so if he isnt upto the pace he'll bé found out.

Brian Murphy would bé ideal to have follow Collins - but he is needed on Kelly - despite what Clare people would try make you think - Kelly and Collins are ahead of the rest of their forwards, so let O'Neill mind the house and let O'Sullivan flake around Croke Park after Collins

And you are right, Jim Gavin has made a bit of a tool of himself with his comments about the referee.

However, I guarantee you that every other county would have resorted to Dublins tactics in the last 10 minutes of the game if chances of winning an AI were on the line. And that is a fact.

The good news is that this auld bollix of a Dub has managed to get his hands on 5 tickets for Saturday. All I need is 1 more and all the family will, hopefully, see Cork win the Mc Carthy Cup.

I might even wear a red jersey for the day.
Sean Og let himself down alright but there was a lot of parts of that interview that were pretty well made as well if people were open minded enough to take them on board.Anyway enough about the Cork hurling legends of the past hopefully this current bunch will write themselves into Cork hurling history on Saturday evening. There's no need to apologise to me about whatever tactics that the Dublin football team deploys. If that was a Cork team i wouldn't be complaining one bit!All the talk about cynicism and foul play would be just like the music you hear in a shopping mall. You hear it but you don't pay much attention to it!To be quite frank i couldn't care less about what anyone say's so long as Cork win the all ireland!

I hope Cork can step up but even if they don't it has been a great season and if/when the disappointment of not winning ebbs away people will see that Cork hurling is in a better place this year than last year.
I think the bit in bold is obvious anyway and there's no way that im cashing all my chips in the casino on Clare not playing as well as they did the last time. However i do think Cork made things easier for Clare the last day with a lack of intensity at times.I expect that to be rectified this Saturday.I can't see us handing Clare the soft scores we gave them the last day.If we nearly beat Clare while playing shite imagine what we can do if we play well?

If Cork lose on Saturday it's not the end of the road but likewise if or when Cork win it doesn't mean that all is rosy in the garden. We still have a lot of weeds and thorns that need pulling up.In other words we shouldn't be happy with any backroom shenanigans when it comes to the minor and u21 job and the facts are that our lack of organisation when it comes to preparing teams in those grades has been a disgrace.

I think this win would be bigger than the one in 1966.That all ireland came after a 12 year famine but this win if it happens will be the return to the promised land after the trauma that was the strikes and the aftermath of them.No matter what side we took i think we are all agreed that the strikes particularly the most recent one was Cork hurlings rock bottom moment.Of course i believe (a lot of people won't agree with me here) a lot of the issues that caused the strikes have not been resolved but an all ireland win this Saturday will give us a platform to build a a renewed legacy of success around.Bear in mind that i said platform we also need to sort out the supporting pillars but a senior all ireland medal will transform a group of players that were mismanaged at times and also unlucky at times at underage level. Then again i think that has already happened after the Kilkenny and Dublin games.

I think we all saw that interview with JBM yesterday. He said im sick of this talk about Cork not scoring goals when we were getting enough scores to win enough matches to get to a final.I don't make scoring goals an issue to the players but we got the goals when we needed them the last day.The players knew that they needed to try something different to change the game and when they saw the opportunities to go for goals they availed of them.I thought that was a great point he made that the team will try and work a goal chance when a goal is badly needed. At the end of the day JBM will have them primed for Saturday and a lot of the players will know that they let themselves down the last day.I expect that to be put right this Saturday.

Sorry there but i forget to say this in my last post.Do you seriously think our lad's are happy enough with losing an all ireland final nevermind losing one to a team managed by Crazy Davy? You can be bloody well sure that they will be like men possessed from the first whistle and i expect a new era for Cork hurling to be launched on Saturday evening.

I hope so youghally.. I was looking at a photo a friend from Clare took as the teams went round behInd the band the last day, he was pitch side

The Clare team all had helmets on, chests pumped and a straight ahead glare.. The cork lads were all looking into the crowd taking in the atmosphere, helmets in hand.

It was no surprise Clare came flying out of the blocks and it needs to be us Saturday.

I think a lot of our lads played the occasion and not the game the last day and i found that to be surprising. They have a second chance though to put it right.
