Dan Martin won today's stage of the Tour of Poland and now leads the overall, with only two stages left.

Hi Guys,

Anyone looking for a racer bike? PM me if you are. I've decided to sell mine that I bought earlier this year from the Edge in North Main street in order to raise some $ for my holidays.

I can get another one if I need it next year. PM me if interesed.

Knightie!

This really does my head in - an Irish cyclist is one stage away from winning the Tour of Poland. This would be a major achievement for Irish cycling and Irish sport in general. Yet any reports are buried in the arse end of the sport pages in IRISH newspapers/websites etc. in favour of the most recent transfer news of an English football team, or whether Tiger Woods extra-marital affairs are still affecting his golf. Not impressed.

Ah Jaysus, you're hardly surprised now are ya? Would have to admit surely though that T of Poland isn't exactly cutting edge!

Dead right on the soccerball coverage though. You'd see big headlines sometimes about Blackburn Rovers or whoever thinking of bidding for JohnBallstheRagman. FFS. That should be "news" in fuppin Blackburn and nowhere else.

Ah not surprised, just annoys me. Granted the TOP isn't the world's greatest sporting event, but you'd hope that something with a bit of Irish interest might get a bit more attention in the meeja. I guess I'm just a dreamer...

It mightn't be the TdF, but after the Grand Tours it has the highest ranking points (along with the monuments and the other top stage races like the Dauphine and Paris-Nice). Between him and Roche they have put Ireland in 16th position in the world rankings.

There are 25 races a year that are worth winning, and he's just won one of them. Now if he'd signed for Accrington Stanley, that would have made the news.
