To fix this problem Jurgen Klopp and John Achterberg have recruited free agent Andy Lonergan to train and play on the upcoming pre-season tour of America.
Fantastic name for a keeper.

Sure is. Almost as good as the youth striker Paul Glatzel

...which in a Scouse accent sounds like "POW Golazzo"

more the post of, look what they got so far

personally i don't think they should take him back as it'd send out a message to salah, mane, etc of 'if you do head off and it doesn't work out you can always come back'.... bad precedent to set imo

couts made his bed, let him lie in it

A bit like Fowler, Owen & Sterling there seems to be nothing but positive noise coming out of Anfield on Brewster's prospects of making it.

He's done as much as you'd hope for so far in pre-season. Kids ultimately need a chance or they'll regress. With three 3 lads up top all returning late Brewster could well get some minutes in the first league game, community shield or the european super cup.

Quote:
“You know how it is in football, it’s pre-season, he’s still very young,” the boss told Liverpoolfc.com in the United States. “He has expectations, I have expectations. He has expectations and that’s good, it’s absolutely good.

“The thing is, the Premier League is the Premier League and we need to make sure he is ready for that. We think he is ready, to be honest, but we have to see when and how often and stuff like this.

“He was injured for a long time. He is a fantastic footballer, we fought really hard for getting him and then keeping him and all that stuff. Now he is here and I think he sees the chance, the chance is there and that’s very good.

“He is an exceptionally good boy and player and I am really excited about the future, but there is not pressure at all on him.

“The big guns are not in and we are all focused and the boys and stuff like that, but don’t put pressure on him. I think he can deal with it because he is a really confident boy, but to be a real Premier League striker you have to miss a chance in front of 50,000, hear the noise, feeling the importance and then if you go again, you have a good chance to be a really big gun.”

Exactly and as previously mentioned, at this level for attacking players , if you haven't made it at 19-20, chances are you won't ever make it.
Three players you mention above bear this out. Likewise Rashford and Tony Marshall at Man U.

Timing plays a big part too. Brewster lost well over a year to ankle issues. He probably feels like he needs to get first team exposure quickly to make up for lost time. He was very close to move to Germany before Liverpool convinced him to re-sign. No doubt first team assurances of some sort were probably made.

It’ll be interesting to see how he does in a proper game. He was set to be given his debut against Barca last year in a last resort sort of job but we pulled off a comeback that not even we saw coming ourselves so remained on the bench.

In other news it looks like Lallana is going to be trialled in the DM role. I can’t really see how that is going to work. His main assets are his pressing and late runs into the box. I don’t see how he will work as a DM but hope to be proven wrong.
