The Black Mariah is a not for profit artist-led project and exhibition space on Washington Street in Cork city centre. It began in May 2007 in response to a lack of artist-led exhibition spaces in the city. The main focus of the project is to cultivate new audiences for contemporary art in Cork, by facilitating and presenting innovative practices through collaborative exchange.
An auction of art works generously donated by artists: Not Abel, Stephen Brandes, Alex Conway, Con Cremin, Simon English, Adham Faramawy, Tom Fitzgerald, Tim Furey, Breda Lynch, Sean Lynch, James Mc Cann, Leo Mc Cann, Mark O Kelly, Padraig Robinson, and Alex Rose, will take place at The Black Mariah, First Floor, 4 Washington St., Cork, on Saturday April 4th at 6pm. All proceeds will go towards supporting the progress and development of the project.
The works can be previewed on Saturday April 4th from 12pm, they will also be available to view on Monday April 6th and Tuesday April 7th between 12 and 6pm.
