> Workshops will be held at The Imperial Hotel on The South Mall. Workshops

> 11am to 12.30pm - Regina Sexton will present a workshop of the work of
> Ireland's Slow Food Ark of Taste. The Ark aims to identify, describe and
> catalogue ingredients, dishes, food production techniques, animals and
> cultivars that have a traditional and cultural link with the island and
> that are endangered of disappearing. To date the Ark has sought to project
> drisheen, boxty (a type of potato cake), fresh blood puddings, Macroom
> oatmeal and a number of seaweeds.
> 1.30 pm to 3pm - The Spice Trail with Aran Kapil and Ivan Whelan of Green
> Saffron, an East Cork spice company they are purveyors of
> fine spices and superior spice blends. They will give a guide of the
> Indian Spice trail and will give an exciting demonstration on
> one of their favourite dishes. Spice Blends will be on sale after the
> 3.30pm to 5pm - School Lunchboxes with Clodagh McKenna (Food Writer) and
> Jacque Barry (Chef and Mother!). We will be looking at what is available
> in the shops to buy and how to read the labels properly. We will also be
> demonstrating simple recipes for your kids lunchboxes.
> Saturday Evening - Slow Food Cork Festival Dinners
> You can choose from 3 different restaurants to eat in - Jacques, Café
> Paradiso, and The Ivory Tower. The restaurants will be putting on a
> special menu using local and seasonal foods. Everyone is to meet in The
> High-B bar on Oliver Plunkett Street at 5pm for an aperitivo! And then on
> to the restaurants, dinner will be followed by a drink in Callahans Bar.
