Lightbulb Private Underground Residence single launch Sat 22nd

Hey,
Private Underground Residence are releasing the single "Snuff Box" as a free download from their upcoming album, due later this year, on Saturday the 22nd January and to celebrate are having a launch gig in the Quad, Tuckey St. Entrance to the gig is free. We're also delighted to add that support on the night comes from Percolator who are also due to release an album later this year.

Private Underground Residence:
Exploding onto the Cork scene in early 2007, Private Underground Residence left bits and pieces of their music all over peoples suspecting and increasingly avalanched ear drums supporting for such groups as Rest, Jezery, So So Modern and Giveamanakick. Made from pieces of the ex-Limerick groups Kader Fire and The Kyboshi, and glued together with a piece of Cork group the Loser Lounge the band embrace everything from groups such as Battles, Fugazi and the Oxes to Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. Refusing to put their music in a hole with pigeons the band instead allow all it to run all over the place picking up the strangled vibrations of genre upon genre as it moves along. 2011 see the release of their debut album, a concept album on the development of idealism.

Percolator:
PERCOLATOR are an Irish based three piece who mix sweet and tender vocals with splintered polyrhythm patterns. The combination of double layered vocals, cut up crashing beats, driving melodic basslines and thrashing symphonic guitars swarms all around to create a mood of spacious melancholy. The band rose from the ashes of critically aclaimed shoegaze sensations DAE KIM and have recently recorded their debut EP, Flicker. This first batch of songs is set to be released mid-November but is already getting some considerable radioplay by Dan Hegarty (2FM), Micheal Carr(96FM) and Paul McLoone(TodayFM). The band have already completed two Irish tours and have played support to international acts such as DEERHOOF, IMMANU EL, A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS and THE OXFORD COLLAPSE; as well as many Irish acts such as KATIE KIM, ADEBISI SHANK AND Ilya K. Percolator's compositions investigate alternative tunings and their sound often overlays a repetitive "motorik" beat onto which the dreamlike male/female vocals are hung. The band's sound is too individual to be pigeonholed but if your looking for reference points then just think Autolux, Swervedriver, Stereolab, Pavement, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. Percolator are currently working on a studio album. ..

Should have included that alright. Recorded by John 'Spud' Murphy at Guerilla Studios, bassist of the now defunct Ilya K.
