Default Chinese fonts on E71

How can I get my e71 to display Chinese characters?

I tried FontRouter but it wouldn't install.

The other option I saw mentioned on forums was to flash the firmware, but I'm extremely wary of doing that.

Tough one.
Installing the Chinese firmware may well wipe your english firmware.

Where do you want the characters to be displayed? IIRC, Opera natively supports Chinese. The text messaging should support it too, if you change the text language. Could always just use pinyin.

The phone won't do it natively; it can only do a few European languages.

It's for a dictionary app (English-Chinese-English). Although the pinyin are given, it also shows the characters, which is something I want.

At the moment, those infernal oblongs show up in place of characters as well as in place of some of the tonal letters.

I'll keep googling; somebody must have done it...
