Agree the opera house looked better before. That pic of the lads skating on the lough is mad, taking your life in your own hands there I'd say.

Flooding on Oliver Plunkett Street in the 1920s with the old Imperial cinema on the left.



Is that where Saville is now I wonder?

Yes.

Savilles is in an old cinema.

The GPO was a theatre as far as I know.

It could be easily back in the 80's for the Michael Jackson concert BM,considering the place still looks the same.

Well that's true too but for those who were there or walking along the marina down to the concert that evening, they were very special times to be a Corkonian

The City Libraries are doing a great calendar with old pics of Cork for 4 Euro.
At the end of the Year cut them out and frame them.
