Elite football is a wonderful business

Clubs have no problem furloughing staff that earn couple of 100 quid a week on while paying stars 10s or 100s of thousand quids..

Has any PL team followed into the path of Barca, Juve or Bayern players yet?

Sure Messi is just making up for his missed tax payments at this stage!

I think Hearts have.

Whether it is completed or voided it doesn't matter a damn.
It doesn't matter a damn but you still feel the need to constantly use it to score points on the local talkpage scene?

On this we can very much agree.

There'll come a time, hopefully soon, when the world will be back to normal. For our own mental health it does no harm to talk about more trivial matters.

Some folks seemingly think we should be thinking about the virus 24/7 and self-flagellating until we come out the other end.

It'll certainly come down to money - in most cases.

If there's a feasible way to get the games (or the subset that decide the key outcomes) done to avoid the legal & financial fall-out then it'll happen.

This is a rare case of the financial incentives aligning relatively well with the sporting outcome (...from a tough situation).

Whatever about finishing the season in August or September, I’d say talk of going back in May with deaths rising in the U.K. is the height of recklessness.

If one player or staff member gets seriously ill, can you imagine the fallout?

Epl, Efl, and players union just released a statement saying no football until it’s safe to do so.

Yet you’ve weighed in on the argument several times?

I’ve said this the other day. We are allowed debate this and anything really during this time. It’s the biggest and only talking point in soccer terms and generally the biggest talking in sport right now. We don’t have to concern ourselves with life and death issues all day, every day. That wouldn’t be good for anyone’s mind. People coming on here during this to try score points as being some form of a bigger person is just sad really. As much as I can disagree with many posters on here, I know well they all have the cop on to know that the most important thing during this is saving lives. We don’t need to keep saying it on here to prove we are good people or something to that effect.
