Default Universally acknowledged. UNIVERSALLY!!

Since then O’Gara has kicked Munster to Heineken Cup glory in 2006 and last month, helped Ireland to two Triple Crown successes and is universally acknowledged as one of world’s finest out-halves.

Now, far be it from me to be a shit-stirrer, but while reading this article in Dexaminer, I couldn't help thinking; "Where does this leave our hapless intellectuals?"

ROG universally acknowledge. Over to you boys.

Heh, heh.

I guess, the guy wrote "universally". Who am I to question the English of a pro journalist??

Unless of course the above mentioned align themselves with the now infamous SFI

Right let's cut out the shit and get down to brass tacks. ROG is a good out half, there is no denying that, but he is far from being the world class player that some aspects of the media would have us believe.

ROG plays a solid game but he's never going to open up a defense the way all great out half can. Carter, Ciprani and Contepomi can all create a try from nothing, where as ROG relies on either his pack or outside backs to break defenses.

At the end of the day if ROG really was one of the finest out halfs in the world Ireland would have at least one grand slam. What has he achieved at the highest level i.e. the world cup. The answer is nothing, every WC he's been involved in has been a disaster. If he was english he wouldn't make the first XV. Outside of ireland no one give a shit about him, they see him for what he is. A good out half but nothing special.
