Default Pine Lodge goes bang (changes hands).

Sad to see another venue go bang but there is someone new taking it over and going to try keep the gigs going.

I haven't been there in a long time, was a grand ould spot back in the day.

Hi folk's, by now the news of pine lodge's closure is no longer a shock. It's been an emotional roller-coaster these last few weeks. I'd like to thank all those customers who bought the craic in with them and left their feelings well outside the door. We've had plenty of good laughs over the past 10 years.
A big thanks to all the bands and musicians who entertained us. Some brought in big crowds and some brought in only a handful, but they were respected equally for their efforts. along with the promoter's who've spotted the next big thing and sent them my way.
The new owners are going to work hard at keeping the character and with some minor refurbishment and maintenance planed the lodge will reopen in the next month or so.
So chin up folk's. There's plenty of life left in the old girl yet.!
Kind regards and fond memories. thanks paddy.

Hopefully they don't make too many changes to the place, it really doesn't need it.

It's not going Bang. It's just getting new ownership and a lick of paint. Shit thread title.

The venue was run by Paddy for the last 10 years, someone new is coming in.

Pubs have a tendency to totally change when someone new comes in, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse, time will tell.

Had some great nights there and saw some great gigs there too. Hopefully it will retain most of its vibe under the new owners and they won't look to turn it into another soulless gentrified gastropub or sports bar or something. There is already enough of them around to cater for that market.
