They're going to cut an extra two inches off the back of the seats in the uncovered so people over 5'4" can sit in(Relative)comfort.
If funds allow they may also clean the three foot of shit and much from the bottom of the Blackrock end.

To the best of my knowledge there will be an extra tier put on the Covered stand. There will also be a floodlight all-weather pitch complete with a stand. A centre of excellence. A 300 space car-park which will belong to the council outside of match days.
Pretty poor fair if I'm honest. Pairc Ui Chaoimh needs to be levelled and built up from scratch. All NL games could be played in Pairc Ui Rinn for a few years and lets face it our hurlers seem to play better away from home in championship anyway so we could waive home advantage for a few years whilst the development takes place.

Think it's a problem with planning.
Funds are there.
But council wants to create a multiple purpose facility on the site
that other sports would also be able to use.
Needless to say Frank ain't havin that

The City Council are happy to sell land to redevelop the stadium (A 15 metre strip around Páirc Uí Chaoimh). The GAA plan to build a two-tier stand on the site of the current stand with some corporate boxes and new dressing rooms, meeting rooms and gym underneath.
However the crux is the GAA's plans for a second pitch just outside Páirc Ui Chaoimh. They want a full sized all-weather floodlit pitch with a small stand but the City Manager doesn't want to sell them anymore of the showgrounds land. They want to keep the rest for a big park in the Docklands.
The latest is that the City Manager Joe Gavin asked Frank Murphy to consider having their centre of excellence at Nemo's grounds or at Páirc Uí Rinn however he was told that would be a non runner. The City Manager also asked if the GAA would take land on the Straight Road next to the planned new Park and Ride for an all weather pitch.
The GAA are due to make a presentation to the City Councillors on Monday to outline their plans. The matter may eventually have to come to a vote by the councillors.

And watch Frankie boy go then.
He'll pull in every favour and every ticket ever given out
for All Ireland finals will be checked.
If any council names appear in his book then the call will be made.

The place is a health hazard and falling dowm. It is a disgrace and no facilities for players or supporters - No one is expecting something like the new Landsdown Road or Croke Park but as is it is an embarassment for a top marque G.A.A. county.

If it was flood proofed properly and not in a Fianna Fáíl Old Ireland Nudge And Wink type way I think the Straight Road would be a great spot for a GAA stadium.
Kerry animals and their ilk could arrive via the south link to Ballincollig and the traffic would be more managable than the little roads of Blackrock and the marina.
