The gf is getting a bike at around that, with full Ultegra spec. It's a giant. She's getting the ladies model, but I assume there's a similarly priced/specced men's model as well, probably a TCR or similar.

Roche placed 3rd in the Tour of Romandy's first proper stage yesterday, got boxed in for the sprint, could definitely have come second or won it. Interesting how his team gave him no lead out at all, despite their being at least one other AG2R rider in the lead group.

Roche is back training and actually took things so seriously while off the bike that he lost weight. This definitely augurs well for him, he's really concentrating on getting to the next level. I know there's a huge element of luck in it, but he has a good chance of a stage win in the tour, and maybe top 20 on GC.

Great going by Dan Martin in the Giro yesterday, that was an awful looking stage. Top young rider on the stage I think.

The 2010 Tour of Ireland has been cancelled due to "current economic conditions".

Seven-times Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong raced in the 2009 event - won by Russell Downing, who is now at Team Sky - as part of his comeback season.

However, the race scheduled for August 18 to 22 has now been cancelled, with organisers hoping it will return in 2011.

A statement on the event's official website, www.tourofireland.ie, read: "The organisers of the Tour of Ireland international cycle race have announced that the race will not go ahead as planned between August 18-22 this year."

Default How much would a typical bike services cost?

Hi everyone I hope this is the right place to ask,

Just wanted to know how much approx would a typical mountain bike services cost?

My girlfriends brakes seem to be sticking (brake discs) and the gears are all over the place. It's kinda been always been like that since she got it in Halfords last year.

I want to bring it into a proper bike shop/repair centre. We are in Blackrock, Cork City.

I heard there is a great place in Carrigaline to go to anybody have any experience?

Thanks

Rothar is the place in carrigaline, good fellas, know their stuff.

Capwell Cycles used to be good when I lived around that area about 6 or 7 years ago.

TBH stay well out of Halfords, Overpriced muck, and 'experts' who are spotty teenagers with a one day maintenance course.

Support your local Bike shop anyway, I got a new Giant there last week with new pedals and shoes in my local shop for €100 less than the bike alone would have cost me from one of the bigger stores.

Edit: linky to Rothar Cycles
