Reading Tony 10 atm.

Haven’t got to the part where he starts stealing yet, but the author is doing a great job portraying the agony of being a secret problem gambler.

Outlandish tale tbh.

PaddyPower come out of it looking a right bunch of c**ts. So does your man though.

It is outlandish. If someone made it up it would be laughed at.

Still haven’t got to the bit that would make me say PP are cunts, but I’d say that anyway watching their behaviour over the years.

Yer mans story rings very true with other problem gamblers I’ve spoken to, or seen speak. He just had access to money to gamble as he did. That was the only difference.

Works as an addiction counselor now I think.

I've got Germany, Poland, Spain, Greece as the last 4 in a nine game accumulator with the other 5 matches won. I'm been offered 102 euros to cash out and I'll get 582 if I win.
I'm feeling a bit iffy about the Greece game tomorrow and the Polish game on Tuesday.
What does the PRoC think?
Big balls or take the money and run?

What was the original bet? Ten, twenty quid?

Which you could afford to lose, right?

Let it roll I say. If it comes in you win 580, if you lose it’s ten/ twenty quid gone. The only problem is you perceiving you will have lost over a hundred.

You won’t. You’ll have lost your original stake.

IMHO you always have to consider the scale of the cash-out position & the degree to which it could improve your life.

Take the position above. And start incrementing the cash-out position by €100 at a time.

There'll come a point for everyone where the initial stake becomes pretty irrelevant.

However, in this situation I'd let it ride.

Fair point.

As in the case of Leicester fans a few years ago I can understand them cashing out. And if Apollo was being offered 80% I could understand it too.

But he’s not, and none of this is life changing.

Absolutely. Imagine the double-whammy of falling marginally short on the biggest moment in the clubs history - while also seeing a 4-5 figure sum go up in smoke.
